Keeping On

So I’m a bad blogger these days? We have had a lot going on, but nothing cool enough to blog about. All my spare time has been devoted to editing pictures and getting my website for my photography up and going. I did my first engagement shoot, which was super fun and I’m really excited to shoot their wedding, plus I have three other shoots to edit and I’m just far behind.

Josh and I have made a few trips to Logan this week and we are spending almost the whole long weekend there too. Hopefully I will have some pictures of Thanksgiving festivities soon. (I know my blog has been lacking in pictures lately and this makes me sad). So anyway, Everyone Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving! Remember to eat lots of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, pie, etc. Is anyone else just beyond excited and drooling already?

Also I have a few technical/blogger questions for anyone who might know the answer:
1. How can I make a picture a link? I know this doesn’t make sense, but I want to have a link on my blog to my photography blog, that is a picture. For example, the links on my blog to Dimples and Daisies, Baby Steals, and Seriously So Blessed below are what I’m after.
2. Does anyone know how to do a 3 column layout on blogger?
3. Does anyone know how to widen the columns of the text part of the blog?

A Rather Blustery Day

I don't know about where you live, but where we live, it is WINDY today. Last night it was so windy that it picked up our neighbors garbage can and threw it at Josh's car! (No one lives there now so it was empty, but still). When I got home for lunch it was down and in my parking spot. I decided it needed to live in their garage until someone moves in and fills it with trash.

And am I the only one who gets nervous when you are sitting in an intersection and the traffic lights are swaying not just a little, the light posts are dancing, cars are swerving, and you can feel your car shift with each gust? Just curious.

Long Time No Update

Wow that is the longest I have gone without updating in a while. I was just so pleased to be showing off my little child I wanted to leave it up for a little bit I guess. (Not really, I just have nothing better to say). Be prepared, here comes another boring update! :)

Thursday- Work, Home, Eat, Sleep- or something close to that

Friday- Work, Home, Eat with Jeremy and Julie which is always fun, Sleep

Saturday- Babysit Kylie almost all day while Jeremy, Julie, Scott, and Kathy put rock up on Jer and Julie’s house. We love practicing our parenting skills on little Kylie (just kidding, kind of)! Also I booked my first wedding for my photography business on Saturday. I really need to get my website up and going…

Sunday- SLEEP ALL DAY! Well almost. I still am not sleeping so well at night and Sunday has quickly become my most favorite day of the week for this reason.

Monday (so far)- Work

Now you see why I didn’t update. Ha!

PS. Thank you so much for the helpful stroller tips and suggestions. I will post pictures when we get it (it is a Christmas gift that I got to pick out- best kind).

PPS. If you have a baby or are expecting one you need to check out this link for babysteals.com. Everyday at 9 am MST they post a new deal. Most of them are pretty good and they are just there until they are sold out, which usually happens by the afternoon. Up to 80% off, good deals! Today's is a really cool diaperbag/changing pad combo for 50% off- get them while they're there.

Bun In The Oven

I had every intention of posting this last night, but I wanted to scan my little picture very badly, so I waited. Sorry to anyone who cares and was anxiously waiting. (Not that there is anyone).

My first appointment was yesterday and I was scared crap less. I’m a worrier if you didn’t know and I had about 100 different thoughts/worries going through my head; the main one being the possibility of twins. My dad is an identical twin and it skips a generation so guess who is genetically more inclined to have twins? Yep, me!

But everything went very well and there is only one baby. We heard his/her little heart beat just a going strong and saw my little blob and I’m just thrilled. The doctor said I was seven and a half weeks along and my official due date is June 26th 2009. Which is good because I’m convinced the first trimester will kill me and I just skipped a week of it!

So there you go, first doctor’s appointment. We are very happy and I hope everyone else is too!

PS. Does anyone have any good stroller recommendations? I would like one that a car seat can hook into? Thanks for the help!

On The Road Again

Josh and I have two cars, but a few months ago when his car didn’t pass inspection because of some wiring issues we decided to park his car to save money on repairs and gas and such and just have me walk to work. I’m literally about four blocks away from my work and really should have been walking anyway so it wasn’t that big of deal. But this weekend we finally got it registered and I’m driving to work again! Whoot whoot! Josh decided he didn’t want his not-so-coordinated, pregnant, wife walking in the snow and falling on the ice; good husband!

This weekend we went up to Logan for a friends wedding reception, got the car registered, and hung out with family and friends. Good times! Sunday we hung out at home and I slept pretty much all day long. (I’m learning to sleep during the day before it starts to hurt).

Tomorrow I don’t have to work. SymbolArts pays us for every dang federal holiday out there, 12 a year, can’t complain about that! And tomorrow is my first doctor’s appointment! Yea! There is a little update on our lives. Sorry no pictures again, I forgot my camera this weekend.

Slip of the Tongue

Have you ever said something and the second after you said it, you instantly regretted it? I’m sincerely hoping I’m not the only one! Well I just did, let me set the stage for you…

Part of my uber boring job as a receptionist is to help customers that come into the showroom. Some of them come to buy our stock products, but most are coming to pick up large orders so that they don’t have to pay shipping on them.

Just barely I had a customer from “Utah Special Olympics” come in to pick up such an order. I went and got it and was running her card for several thousand dollars and it didn’t work the first time. My credit card machine does this frequently and I just have to run it twice. She was all concerned, “Is there something wrong?”

Trying to reassure her that it was just my machine, I choose some wonderful words: “Oh no, my machine is just retarded.” - Pause for shocked silence! Yep, that’s what I thought.

Usually I have much better control over what I say, so I’m not even sure what happened. Luckily she only reprimanded me a little (“we don’t like that word, we work with special needs children”). Yes, my face went beat red, yes I feel like a complete failure! I seriously hope my story made someone else laugh…

Fundraiser Foolishness

So a big sorry if you tried to do the fundraiser last night, but a HUGE thank you if you did. Apparently the lines were over an hour long at times and people couldn’t get through on the phone to place their orders and all kinds of shenanigans. But on the plus side, that means huge support for the Larsen family and I’m very grateful for it.

Josh and I ended up going later in the evening and they just kept telling us they weren’t taking orders for take out because they were so backed up. Well we went there anyway and I put on my mean face to get to the bottom of it. They actually ran out of food! I don’t know if they just weren’t prepared, but from what I’ve heard I think there was just an overwhelming response. So a big THANK YOU for everyone that went and braved the lines! We appreciate your support and kindness for the Larsen’s.

PS. One day soon I will post something with pictures, but nothing much is going on here and I already feel large so it might take some convincing.
PPS. Apparently I did jinx myself. Not sleeping at night is back with a vengeance!

Last Plea & Thanks

This is the last time I'm bringing up the fundraiser. I know it is probably getting annoying, but it is just such a deserving little family and such an easy way to help. So please participate TOMORROW if you can! My mother-in-law did a great job of summing up all the details so click here if you want to help. Remember that tomorrow is the ONLY day!

And I just wanted to say thank you so much to EVERYONE for their kind words, support, and advise. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family watching over us. And in the good news department: the doctor told me to try fiber and so far it has been helping a lot! I actually slept all the way through the night the past TWO NIGHTS! I hope I didn’t just jinx myself; knock on wood!

The Tiny Feet Deats

(Deats is supposed to be short for details, I just thought it was cute because it rhymed). If you didn't know, I'm preggo (check this link, because I love how we told people) and if you did know, here is more information, which apparently is necessary after my last post:

We found out that I was pregnant on our anniversary, which is part of what made it so wonderful. We had been trying for a little bit so it was the perfect present! We kept it a secret for two weeks because I wanted to tell our families and friends the way we did. Hardest thing I’ve ever done, but very worth it!

My best guess of a due date is July 4th. As a side note, I will do whatever it takes, including holding it in, to not have my child on this day! (Yes I know that isn’t really possible). This puts me at about six weeks along.

Have I been sick? Yes! I would like to say that, “that is the understatement of the century!” Most of you that know me, know that I have my fair share of stomach problems. I have IBS (gross, I know), lactose-intolerance, and acid reflux. So I figured, throw a little nausea in there and I probably won’t even notice because I’m already sick all of the time. But, this is a whole new level of H-E-Double Hockey sticks. What I should have thought is oh crap, morning sickness coupled with all my other crap is going to be something new and dreadful all together! The pain has been so intense that I actually don’t sleep at all most nights; I just hang out in the bathroom. But, it’s totally okay because I know that at the end of it all, I will have my own little bundle of joy! (And PS, the doctor said I was okay, just having issues with my IBS).

I will be completing the Jones’ family trifecta. (And I love the word trifecta)! Both of my sister-in-laws are having babies next year and so I needed to get cracking. Ours will be the fifth Jones’ grandbaby total. Josh’s parents are just beaming at the thought of so many grandkids coming their way and his brothers and sister-in-laws are excited we will have kids so close in age!

On the McMurdie side, big shocker, but it will be the first grandbaby! My parents are just tickled pink and don’t feel old enough to have a grandchild yet. My siblings are excited as well. Justin is sad he will probably miss it, but excited to come home to a niece or nephew (he will most likely be on the mission when the baby is born). Some of my siblings didn’t believe me when I told them, which I don’t understand, but I’m pretty sure they are all thrilled!

My first doctor’s appointment is on Tues, November 11th (Veteran’s Day). And I promise that when I know something it will be posted on the blog.

Thanks for all your support and kind words. It makes it that much better to know we have people that love us and are so happy for us!
