Busy Busy Busy

It’s amazing how easy it is to get behind. I try really hard not to because I use this as a journal, but you know, life gets busy.

On Thursday it was the first day of school for my siblings. Trae and I went to Janece’s school to see the Hello Assembly.

Here is Trae in his seat waiting for it to start. Really he fell asleep a few minutes after it started.

They did a really cool "angry rocker" ish dance.

I love this picture because it is all hair!

Traegan and I went to the doctor on Friday for the dreaded two-month appointment. I am always excited to go and see how he has grown, but I was not thrilled about the whole shots thing. He actually did surprisingly well with the shots. Of course he cried when they gave him to them, but fell right asleep in the car and didn’t appear to be that hurt or ornery for the next few days. He is a trooper.

Here he is in the morning, he fell asleep in his swing after I fed him. Pretty much a daily occurrence…

Speaking of how he grows:
Length- 22 inches- 20%
Weight- 11 pounds 1.5 ounces- 30%
Head- 38.7 centimeters- 20%

New things he does:

Just the last week or two he has started cooing and “talking” to us so much more. Particularly when we change his bum. (Can’t really blame him, I would be happy when I didn’t have to sit in poop any more too).

He has also discovered he has a tongue and is constantly sticking it out. When I stick mine out at him, he will laugh and then do it back.

He is starting to understand day and night a lot better. Most the time he sleeps for a good four to five hours when I first put him to bed and then wakes up every two hours after that. But a few times recently he has only woke up one time during the night! Hopefully that will become more regular.

He is still rolling like a champ from his stomach, and getting closer and closer to going from his back everyday.

He LOVES to arch his back. He has been doing this since he was born. Everyone that holds him comments on that and how much he supports his head. He has also been doing that from the womb. Seriously I hardly ever support his head for him now. He is tough!

And last but not least, he is an all around smiley and happy guy.

I also managed to get this video of him on Friday before his appointment. It’s mostly a lot of me making a fool of myself, but he does coo a little in it at about 24 seconds.

On Saturday, we went to Logan for the band practice. But before that we spent a great lazy morning at home. In Logan I spent the day at my mom and dad’s and then we tried to visit Josh’s parents, but forgot they were gone.

At night we tried again to get Trae’s talking on camera. This time we tried to do it while we changed his bum. There is some, but it’s mixed in with the nothingness. If you care to skip around, he makes a bunch of sad noises at the beginning, but some of his coos are at 1:04, 1:55, and 2:40.

Sunday, we got a visit from Scott and Kathy on their way home. And we hung out with Jeremy and Julie and clan for dinner. It was so much fun. And a great day off of church!

This week so far I have been cleaning and helping my family with half marathon stuff. Tonight, Josh has band practice (and a show on Friday if any one is interested).

And that’s about it. Life goes on and on, and we are loving it!

Little Hurley Baby

We had yet another awesome weekend. On Saturday morning and afternoon we putted around and had some good family time. Then we went to Logan for Josh’s first concert in a while. Since it was outside (and wouldn’t be too loud) I decided to take Trae for a minute so he had to get dressed up for the part. Yes, he is wearing a little Hurley shirt. I think he is adorable!

I get this awesome toothless grin more and more these days...

He only stayed to the concert until the music started. Then he went to hang out with Grandpa and Grandma Jones. (I just wanted to show him off to all our buddies).

Josh’s band did really well. But it was so dang cold that I couldn’t bring myself to come out from under the blanket to take pictures. Seriously, it was like mid-October, not August! But Kathy took this adorable one of Trae…

On Sunday we came back up to the Jones’ for some family fun. We had every one there and Scott’s parents. We were forced to take family pictures, but I don’t mind!

The whole gang, minus Scott and Kathy.

Here are the three babies all hanging out. Owen is 5 months, Chloe is 3 months, and Traegan is almost 2 months.

And it was also my mom’s birthday on Sunday. I love you tons mom! Thank you for all you do for me and my little family.

Bumbo

We had a really great weekend. On Thursday night I went to see Stacy while Josh and Jeremy went to see GI Joe. We both had tons of fun.

Friday night we hung out at home and Saturday we went to visit family. Sunday we hung out at home and started our Lord of the Rings marathon (extended versions… one per night). It was lots of fun and together time.

We also decided to try the Bumbo out for the first time on Sunday. Afterall, the only requirement on the box is for him to support his own head, and he’s pretty much been doing that from the womb. Despite the video, he really did like it for a while. And also despite the video, he is getting to be really grinny and I love it!

A Day Out

Yesterday Julie needed to drive down to Ogden to get her car fixed. I met her down there and after eating lunch with Josh, we wandered the mall aimlessly for a while. It was great to get out of the house.

Later that night, they came over to show off their new car and I took this picture of Chloe and Traegan. They were really cute actually, they would kind of stare and coo at each other. They are only about six weeks apart.

Today I realized I've been failing to take pictures of Traegan with his bear to do size comparisons with; so here are some where he is 6 and a 1/2 weeks old. Plus another picture and a video to show off his new trick... smiling and babbling.

And just in case any one cares, I figured out how to work my video camera better and went through and uploaded all of the video's we had of Traegan. So if you want to see them, click on video below this post.

Traegan's Blessing

Yesterday we blessed our little Traegan. It was such a beautiful and perfect day. Josh did an excellent job and we had so much friends and family there to support our little family. Traegan has quite the little fan club!

Here is our cute family on the special day.

After sacrament meeting we went to a nearby park for lunch.

All the family and friends that came to eat with us

Me, Janece, my mom, and Traegan

Table decorations (basically an excuse for me to use my favorite picture again)

Traegan napping in his car seat

By the end of the day, Traegan was hot and tired and had just had it all around.

And here is a video Josh and I took of the day. The first part is Josh talking and the second is Kylie, Jett, and "Papa" playing ring around the rosies, which is adorable!

Today I got my camera back out and took some pictures of him in his blessing outfit that his Grandma McMurdie and Great-Grandma Perkes made for him.

This picture pretty much melts my heart. It's the first smile that I've been able to catch on camera.

Isn't it just pathetic?

He was done taking pictures.

And this doesn’t really fit with this post, but I took this picture on Friday night. It was my attempt to get his mohawk to lay down. It only lasted a few minutes before it was poking up again.
