It’s amazing how easy it is to get behind. I try really hard not to because I use this as a journal, but you know, life gets busy.
On Thursday it was the first day of school for my siblings. Trae and I went to Janece’s school to see the Hello Assembly.
Here is Trae in his seat waiting for it to start. Really he fell asleep a few minutes after it started.
They did a really cool "angry rocker" ish dance.
I love this picture because it is all hair!
Traegan and I went to the doctor on Friday for the dreaded two-month appointment. I am always excited to go and see how he has grown, but I was not thrilled about the whole shots thing. He actually did surprisingly well with the shots. Of course he cried when they gave him to them, but fell right asleep in the car and didn’t appear to be that hurt or ornery for the next few days. He is a trooper.
Here he is in the morning, he fell asleep in his swing after I fed him. Pretty much a daily occurrence…
Speaking of how he grows:
Length- 22 inches- 20%
Weight- 11 pounds 1.5 ounces- 30%
Head- 38.7 centimeters- 20%
New things he does:
Just the last week or two he has started cooing and “talking” to us so much more. Particularly when we change his bum. (Can’t really blame him, I would be happy when I didn’t have to sit in poop any more too).
He has also discovered he has a tongue and is constantly sticking it out. When I stick mine out at him, he will laugh and then do it back.
He is starting to understand day and night a lot better. Most the time he sleeps for a good four to five hours when I first put him to bed and then wakes up every two hours after that. But a few times recently he has only woke up one time during the night! Hopefully that will become more regular.
He is still rolling like a champ from his stomach, and getting closer and closer to going from his back everyday.
He LOVES to arch his back. He has been doing this since he was born. Everyone that holds him comments on that and how much he supports his head. He has also been doing that from the womb. Seriously I hardly ever support his head for him now. He is tough!
And last but not least, he is an all around smiley and happy guy.
I also managed to get this video of him on Friday before his appointment. It’s mostly a lot of me making a fool of myself, but he does coo a little in it at about 24 seconds.
On Saturday, we went to Logan for the band practice. But before that we spent a great lazy morning at home. In Logan I spent the day at my mom and dad’s and then we tried to visit Josh’s parents, but forgot they were gone.
At night we tried again to get Trae’s talking on camera. This time we tried to do it while we changed his bum. There is some, but it’s mixed in with the nothingness. If you care to skip around, he makes a bunch of sad noises at the beginning, but some of his coos are at 1:04, 1:55, and 2:40.
Sunday, we got a visit from Scott and Kathy on their way home. And we hung out with Jeremy and Julie and clan for dinner. It was so much fun. And a great day off of church!
This week so far I have been cleaning and helping my family with half marathon stuff. Tonight, Josh has band practice (and a show on Friday if any one is interested).
And that’s about it. Life goes on and on, and we are loving it!
