Some Stuff

Saturday night into Sunday was a very long night. It was a lot of Avonelle not wanting to sleep. But we watched Grey’s and had a lovely time playing with each other. I posted this on Facebook and said, “We having a no-sleep, duck-face party! Ain’t no rest for the weary!”

We had a lovely Sunday at church and then we went to Logan so I could attend my friends’ grandpa’s viewing.  After that I went to Josh’s parents house and we learned that his Grandma had passed away. We knew it was getting close and we were sorry to lose her, but she was in a lot of pain there at the end so it was probably for the best. Still horrible though to lose someone you love!

Tuesday we planned to take Josh’s parents out to dinner. It was a fun time and I hope at least it helped Kathy.

But before that Josh wrote me this nice little thing on Facebook.  It made me happy.  It made me blush actually.  So I'm preserving it for even more "public domain."

Anyway, here is my adorable children before we went to dinner.  I tried to get a cute picture of Avonelle in her new outfit, but she would only make this "stink-face smile" and Traegan was doing this...

Eventually, I got him to be adorable.

Avy however, would only do this "stink-face smile".

Wednesday, September 11th started with me feeling very, very grateful for my family and our safety. I love them. I just had to say that.

It also started with Josh and I hanging out in Trae’s room and chatting when Avy came walking in the room with a book and said, “read this.” Wowser. Seriously, she is a chatty little thing.

And Trae had his first Show and Tell at school.  He choose to bring his new monster that his Grandma brought him back from New York.

He also loves to take a jumping picture whenever I take his picture.

Thursday evening we had more soccer.  Super fun.

Here is Traegan scoring a goal during practice.  It's pretty much the only time he touches the ball so I had to get a picture.

And here is cute Av watching the game.

She was very happy when Grandma showed up to play with her.

This was DURING the game and Traegan kicked it two or three times in a row.  Hallelujah.  This is some serious improvement!  The rest of the game he did his usual, interpretive dance moves and running up and down the field past the ball.  But this was a glimmer of actually playing.  :)

Avy was thoroughly enjoying her orange slices.

And here is Trae doing a throw in.  He is just so wonderful!

After the game we took Owen to our house to play while Jettsen had his game.  Traegan and Owen invented a new game where Avonelle wore a bucket on her head, they called her a monster and poked her in the bucket with swords and bats.  It was fairly hilarious.  But I did put a stop to it once I realized they were hitting her.

But she was still having fun chasing them.

My kids are LOVING their new neighbors.  :)  And so are we.

Peach Days

Saturday, September 7th was Peach Days people! Whoot freaking whoot! I LOVE ME some Peach Days. We started off the morning with the parade! :)

And we were joined by our NEW NEIGHBORS, Jason and Noelle and boys. My kids LOVE their new neighbors!

It did look like rain, and Owen was prepared.  :)

The parade started with like a million police cars and fire trucks and etc., all blaring their sirens as loud as possible.  It was uncomfortable.

During the parade, anytime Avonelle got what Traegan deemed to be "too close" to the parade, he would go grab her and lead her back to the side.  It was kind of awesome.

It did start raining for a bit during the parade, so I put my camera away. Which means that I have no pictures of the creepy high school students acting like monkeys and Owen trying to ignore them, Avonelle waving at everyone like she was a princess, Jettsen stealing an entire weeks worth of cereal or as he called it "a buttload of breakfast!", and most importantly the horrifying and disturbing zombie kid. It was kind of the best parade ever!

After the parade we went home intending to go right back out, but the kids were tired and Avy fell asleep almost instantly.  So we ventured back out a few hours later to eat delicious food and hit up the carnival rides.  The kids had a blast.  After lunch we started with the merry-go-round since we could ride it too.

Traegan waved the whole time because he loved waving at the kids on it before him.

Avy just grinned and yelled, "Yeah!"

Next they rode in a UFO.

Freaked me right the crap out.

Next they rode in a car and Avy waited long enough before it started that she got really restless.

She did much better once it started.

She took her driving very seriously.

Traegan loved being in charge of the tickets and handing them to the workers and saying, "two please."

They drove the train for their last ride.  I truly believe that Traegan thought he was driving the train.

Avy couldn't reach the steering wheel past the seat belt, but she enjoyed watching and riding still.

It was way fun.  This is the first year we have done rides and the kids loved it and I LOVED watching them.

Pre-Peach

Sunday, September 1st we headed off to church, but I had to take a picture of Traegan before we left because he had a new cute tie. Oh how dapper he is!

Monday, was Labor Day and we spent the day visiting family. We saw a bunch of my family in the morning and we visited Josh’s mom’s grandparents in their new home. It was really nice to see them. Grandma Rhelda was not doing very well so we needed to go see her.

At night we went to the park and had some fun on the playground.

Avonelle wore her new shoes and LOVED them. She brings them to me every morning to wear. The girl loves sparkles!

Wednesday morning while Traegan was at Preschool I had to go to Walmart and Avonelle was so tired that when I got her out of the car she stayed asleep. So I put her in one of the baby seats and she still stayed asleep. She stayed asleep through the shopping and moving her back into her car seat and then into her crib. Funny little thing.

That afternoon we did a joint Activity Days and we did a little Peach Days “parade.” They brought their younger siblings and we decorated bikes and rode around the neighborhood. It was so cute to see them all lined up.

Trae and Avy waiting to go.

Traegan ended up not riding his bike and rode in one of the girls’ wagons. It was all I could do to send him off like that.

The girls all TOOK OFF and it was impossible for me to keep up without a bike. Ha! One of the leaders was able to keep up with them and I was glad we had a marathon runner in our group.

Then it was Peach Days! I LOVE Peach Days!

The Princess

Avonelle is 18 months old now. What the freak?! I hate when they get bigger on me. Anyway, I had some pictures done to help me freeze this small little moment in her life.

And the very talented photographer was Every Smile a Memory. I highly recommend her and if you use her, please tell her I sent you!

I wanted to do little dress up pictures because Avy has been such a little princess lately. When she’s far too quiet and I panic and go running to find what kind of mischief she’s up to, nine times out of ten, she’s in her closet trying on shoes. (We won’t discuss the terror she causes the other times). She is constantly trying to dress herself and putting bows in her hair. And she refuses to leave the house without her purse. She’s a princess.

Oh I love her tiny little her!

Seriously, I want to squish her!

Princess Avonelle

Trying on her new pretty shoes.  Which she can't walk in, but tries to wear everyday.  Love her!

Playing with mommy's pretties.

Oh my.  She is the pretties thing I've ever laid eyes on!

I love the pictures so very much!  I'm so glad for them.  Again, if you need awesome pictures contact Every Smile a Memory and tell her I sent you!
